The St. Clair Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of its Student Trustees for the 2025-2026 school year. Cristian Suffi of Ursuline College Chatham will represent Chatham-Kent students, while Katelyn (Katie) Murphy of St. Patrick’s Catholic High School will represent students in Sarnia-Lambton.
Cristian and Katie bring unique strengths, strong voices, and a shared commitment to leadership and service—qualities that will serve them well as they represent the students of Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton at the Board table.

Cristian Suffi is known around Ursuline College as a dynamic and engaged student. Whether he’s on the honour roll, the volleyball court, the theatre stage, or helping organize school events through Lancer Link, Cristian is all in. He brings a global perspective to his leadership, with a passion for languages and culture, fueled by school travel and his Italian heritage. Outside the classroom, Cristian finds balance through music—working toward his Grade VIII piano certification—and sports, all while holding down a part-time job. His energy, curiosity, and drive make him a natural leader.

At St. Patrick’s, Katie Murphy has already made a name for herself as a leader grounded in faith and compassion. From her early days at Holy Trinity, where she led student families and championed school spirit, to her current role as Minister of Faith on Student Council, Katie has always stepped up to serve others. Whether she’s helping prepare students for sacraments, raising support through Irish Miracle, or organizing social justice initiatives through Key Club, Katie leads with heart. Her dedication to living out her values is an inspiration to her peers and community.
“Having student voice at our table is a powerful reminder of who we serve and why our work matters,” says Lisa Demers, Incoming Director of Education. “Cristian and Katie are both exceptional leaders who reflect the values of Catholic education, and we look forward to the insight and energy they will bring.”
As Student Trustees, Cristian and Katie will represent the voice of their peers, bring forward student perspectives, and contribute to important conversations that shape Catholic education. Their appointment is a celebration of student leadership, engagement, and the power of young people to make a difference.
