St. Clair Action News Video Update on Sacred Heart, Sarnia Reconstruction Project

Construction at the future Sacred Heart Catholic School site on Hogan Drive is progressing rapidly, with students and staff preparing to move into the new, state-of-the-art building this fall. The project marks a major milestone in the life of the school community, as the 49ers prepare to say farewell to their current home and embrace an exciting new chapter.

“The transformation has been incredible,” says Lisa Demers, Director of Education. “It’s inspiring to see how this space is being reimagined for 21st century learning, while still honouring the strong legacy of Sacred Heart.”

To celebrate that legacy, the school will host a special Open House and School Closing Celebration on Thursday, May 8 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 1411 Lecaron Avenue. The event will offer families, alumni, and community members a chance to walk the halls one last time, enjoy light refreshments and cake, and share stories and memorabilia from years gone by.

As anticipation builds for the opening of the new school in September, the May 8 event promises to be a heartfelt send-off for a beloved building—and a celebration of the bright future ahead.
