The Mud Creek Trail in Chatham came alive with energy, colour, and community spirit on Friday, April 25, as more than 240 participants joined the first-ever Light Up the Night for Noelle – CK Edition. From the youngest one-kilometre racers to five-kilometre walkers and runners of all ages, the night was a glowing success—raising more than $19,000 to support local children through Noelle’s Gift.
For over a decade, Noelle’s Gift has quietly and consistently supported students across both Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent—providing emergency funds for families, nutritious snacks, warm clothing, and essential care items directly to schools. This event marks an exciting new chapter as Noelle’s Gift expands its community-based fundraising efforts across Chatham-Kent.
“It was incredible to see the Chatham-Kent community show up in such a big way for our very first run in Chatham-Kent,” says Leah Cabral, Co-Chair of the Chatham-Kent chapter of Noelle’s Gift and Supervisor of Communications & Community Relations for St. Clair Catholic. “The energy, the generosity, the heart—every bit of it made this night unforgettable. This is what Noelle’s Gift is all about: people coming together to make a difference for kids. To see that spirit come alive here in Chatham-Kent, and to raise over $19,000 in our first event—it’s just amazing. We’re so grateful, and we know this is only the beginning.”

The evening brought together a joyful crowd, with many St. Clair Catholic staff and students proudly participating as runners, volunteers, and cheerleaders along the course. Their presence and energy helped shape a memorable night that celebrated the power of community and kindness.
With such a strong beginning, Light Up the Night for Noelle – CK Edition is sure to become an annual tradition. Chatham-Kent has made it clear: when it comes to helping students thrive, this community shows up—and shines!
