Grade 6 to 8 students at St. Anne Catholic School in Sarnia recently took part in an engaging and eye-opening presentation from the Sarnia Police Service on the topic of social media and internet safety.
Constables McLean and Sparling spoke to students about a range of important topics, including the permanence of social media posts, protecting personal information, and recognizing and responding to cyberbullying. The session sparked thoughtful discussions and helped students better understand the impact of their digital footprint.
“These conversations are so important,” said Mandy Guenette, Vice Principal at St. Anne. “The officers brought real-life examples and made the message relatable for our students. It’s through partnerships like this that we help students build the knowledge and confidence to make smart choices online.”

Staff also found the visit informative, reinforcing the school’s ongoing focus on student well-being and digital citizenship. St. Anne Catholic School is grateful for the continued support of the Sarnia Police Service and their commitment to youth education.
