St. Peter Canisius Students Plant Trees with St. Clair Conservation to Grow a Greener Future

Mr. Sottosanti’s Grade 5/6 class has partnered with St. Clair Conservation to plant trees in the St. Peter Canisius school yard, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and community collaboration. This initiative offers students a hands-on experience in caring for the earth while enhancing the school grounds.

Last month, students came together to successfully plant the trees, and now they are actively involved in nurturing them by regularly watering and monitoring their growth. This ongoing care helps instill a lasting sense of responsibility and connection to nature.

Erin Moffat Sharpe, Principal of St. Peter Canisius, shared her thoughts on the project: “It’s inspiring to see our students come together with such enthusiasm and dedication. This partnership with St. Clair Conservation not only enriches our school environment but also teaches our students the importance of working collaboratively to protect our planet. The trees they’ve planted today will grow alongside our community, reminding us of the positive impact we can make now and for generations to come.”

This project reflects the school’s ongoing commitment to fostering environmental awareness and community involvement, nurturing responsible and engaged citizens for the future.
