On September 25, 2025, St. Clair Catholic French Immersion schools will proudly join communities across the province in celebrating Franco-Ontarian Day. This year carries special significance as we mark the 50th anniversary of the iconic green and white Franco-Ontarian flag—a symbol of pride for Ontario’s French-speaking community.
Flag-raising ceremonies will take place at our French Immersion Catholic schools, including Christ the King Catholic School (Wallaceburg), Monsignor Uyen Catholic School (Chatham), St. Anne Catholic School (Blenheim), and Gregory A. Hogan Catholic School (Sarnia).
Students and staff are encouraged to wear green and white in honour of the flag’s legacy, while each school hosts events that highlight the rich history and cultural significance of the Franco-Ontarian identity. Celebrations will include French-language storytelling, music, art, and other team-building activities that promote unity, joy, and community spirit. Teachers will also lead lessons that deepen students’ appreciation of Francophone heritage and traditions.
As the Franco-Ontarian flags rise above each school, the St. Clair Catholic community will reaffirm its commitment to language, faith, and cultural pride—ensuring the next generation carries the torch of Francophone identity with confidence and joy.
