The Huron Lakers Basketball Organization has donated $5,000 to support the upcoming OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations) senior girls’ basketball tournament, which will be hosted by St. Patrick’s Catholic High School, Sarnia.
About 200 athletes from 16 secondary schools across the province will participate in the tournament in November. The funds will help to pay for referees for the event and the traditional semi-formal banquet, which is attended by all team members and coaches.
Games will be held at both St. Patrick’s and Lambton College gyms.

“We are grateful for the support from both the Huron Lakers organization and Lambton College,” says Daniella Mancusi, Principal of St. Patrick’s Catholic High School. “It is an honour to host this OFSAA championship. We look forward to what we know will be a thrilling and memorable event for our entire school community!”
In addition to gym space, Lambton College will also assist with providing paramedics, security, video and livestreaming.
The Huron Lakers Basketball Organization exists to help young people develop skills in the sport and build connections with the high school’s athletics program. Partner elementary schools include Gregory A. Hogan, Holy Trinity, St. Matthew and St. Anne – each of which also received $2,000 in donations from the Huron Lakers organization.
