Today, flags at all St. Clair Catholic schools and offices remain lowered to half-mast in honour of Remembrance Day.
Each year, our school communities pause to honour and reflect upon the sacrifices of the brave women and men of Canada’s Armed Forces who have served the cause of freedom in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions around the world.
We give thanks to God for their service to our country and their commitment to world peace, as we pray for His blessings of comfort for their families:

Prayer for Peace
God of All,
We know you are a God of justice, truth, and love.
Today we offer our prayers for peace in our world,
to remember those still engulfed in war-torn situations,
and to remember those who fought and died in wars.
Keep us responsible in seeking and promoting peace
for the world and all its peoples.
Keep us mindful of the many sacrifices that were made
so that we might have freedom and peace in our country.
We ask that you help every nation, every people, every race,
and every religion find, at last, the one heartbeat we share in You, our God.
We make our prayer in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
